The MINIX Z150-0dB is a fanless mini PC that packs an Intel N150 Twin lake processor and support for up to 32GB of user-replaceable memory and up to 4TB of PCIe 3.0 storage into a compact body that measures 123 x 120 x 46mm (4.84″ x 4.72″ x 1.81″).
It’s an updated version of the Z100-0dB that launched in late 2023, and as the name suggests, the biggest change is that the new model has an Intel N150 processor rather than an Intel N100 chip. At time of publication the only version of the MINIX Z150-0dB available for purchase is a model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage that sells for $280 at Amazon. But additional configurations could launch in the future.
The Intel N150 processor is a 4-core, 4-thread chip with support for CPU speeds up to 3.6 GHz and Intel UHD integrated graphics featuring 24 execution units and support for frequencies up to 1 GHz. The chip is based on the same architecture as Intel’s previous-gen Intel N100 chip, but it supports CPU and GPU frequencies that are up to 200 MHz and 250 MHz higher, respectively.
Otherwise the new Z150-0dB is virtually identical to its predecessor. It has the same single SODIMM slot with support for DDR4-3200 memory, PCIe 3.0 x4 slot for solid state storage, and Intel AX201 wireless card with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Ports include:
The system also has a reset button on one side and two antenna screw mounts on the other.
Performance is likely to only be a little better on the new model. So if you’re looking to save a few bucks, you might be better off buying the Z100-0dB. Amazon is currently selling a 16GB/512GB version of that fanless mini PC for $229 ($51 less than the Z150-0dB).
